I just passed my one year nurse anniversary with Skylar. I hadn't planned on breastfeeding Skylar. 2 months before she was born my friend Tiffany talked to be about breastfeeding. So I went to a class. The class was at the same hospital I had Karlee, I was expecting the class to go badly. Instead the nurse was very informative. Answered all my questions. She stated that the hospital is not the same as 5 years ago. I then researched on my own through Google and Facebook groups. I truly believed that breastfeeding was the best way to go this time. On 3/13/2013 @ 812am Skylar was born weighing 6lb 5 oz and 18 3/4 inches. She was tiny and my boobs were huge! The difference in the hospital was so awesome. As soon as I got in recovery they brought me Skylar. I had her in my arms within 30 minutes. The nurse scooped her up and put her on my boob. The first latch was so great. I was in ah. Every question I had they helped me. They helped the baby latch until I had it down. The first 6 weeks was so hard but so rewarding. I also quit smoking cigarettes the day Skylar was born. So I thank Landon for being the stable one making sure breastfeeding was successful! The journey has been awesome.
